On our latest adventure we packed up the car and headed out for a week in Spain. Our first day got us as far as Biarritz and Bayonne, France. We went to the beach for dinner. We enjoyed walking around the beach and boardwalk area.
We found a nice little restaurant across from this church.
We had to wait until 7 for the restaurant to open, I did a little shopping while Jon and the kids checked out the view.
Traveling with a toddler is always interesting. Malachi is a good little traveler, but when it is dinner time and no food to be found things can get ugly. Usually we are able to keep this from getting too bad, but sometimes we lose. After some dinner and good night's rest we were all ready for day 2 of our adventure.
We got up the next morning and drove into Bayonne. The cathedral and brocante were a lot of fun.
The cathedral was one of the prettiest we have seen.
We didn't spend long in the city, but long enough to see the church, gather a couple of treasures and have a snack.
The kids being a little silly.
Jon and the kids left me at the brocante when they were done so I had to catch up. You can see more of what they had and what I found at the brocante at Brocante Treasures.
We were abel to walk around the grounds of the church. We were the only people there and and it was beautiful.
Then it was into the church.
Addison is such a good big sister.
I love the decorations here.
Sweet Bennett is our most reverent in churches. I love it when he walks off on his own and gets lost deep in thought.
We piled back into the car in Bayonne for a day in the car. We arrived in Navacerrada, Spain. The town is located in the mountains about 30 minutes north of Madrid.
This is the place we stayed, on the left side of this duplex.
This is the church that was across the street. In the town there are bakeries, a grocery store, a couple of clothing boutiques, a lake, a butcher, and plenty of restaurants.
This picture was taken inside the house's garden.
And then the neighborhood bunny ran by and the kids off chasing after him.
We had a wonderful week in this house. More pictures of our adventures to come!
